Here is an email I received from an aunt who wants to print her own comp cards. Other input is welcome through the comments section below.
Question:
Hi Bob.
I would like to help my niece with her modeling career. She says she needs some comp cards?
I paid for her to have her model portfolio photographs taken as she has little
money herself. The photographer wanted more money to do comp cards.
I was wondering if there were any free comp card templates around we could use hence saving myself and my neice money.
I have a perfectly good computer and printer and would like to do this
for her.
Can you offer any help on this?
I would very much appreciate your help and co operation.
Regards.
Chris
Answer:
Chris,
Most photographers don’t personally produce comp cards and I don’t know of any templates to use although you might find some online.
However, I would reccommend that you not skimp on this step of your neice’s portfolio. It is very inexpensive to have your composites printed by professionals and model agencies will know the difference unless you have a high-quality photo printer.
Companies like CK Design and others will color-correct your images and make 100 comp cards for less than $100 which is probably less than you could print them yourself. You’ll find them online at ..

Please take this into consideration so your neice has professional comp cards to leave with talent agents. Hope this helps.
Best,
Bob
